Dedicated Rehearsal Times Information
We are excited to announce that this Nutcracker season we will be changing how we divide class and rehearsal time*. Shifting to dedicated rehearsal time outside of class time will better help dancers focus on technique, creating stronger dancers and better performances. This change will also allow dancers who do not wish to participate in performances to continue their training uninterrupted.
Performances will be on a voluntary basis. Dancers who choose to perform must commit to attending all scheduled rehearsals* which will take place on Saturdays or Sundays, including holiday weekends and all tech and dress rehearsals on stage. Dancers will be excused for one non-mandatory rehearsal as long as the artistic director has been advised of the absence at least two weeks prior to the event.
We are hopeful that this new approach to performances will be beneficial to everyone, allowing teachers and students time to focus on technique, and freedom for families to participate in performances if desired.
*PreBallet, Ballet 1 and Jazz Department (incl. contemporary, jazz, theatre dance & tap) will learn choreography during class time
