Registration Information
THE RIDGEFIELD SCHOOL OF DANCE has an open registration policy. Students may
join class at any time, however, we advise that they start class in the Fall
Term. Classes are pro-rated from the time a student starts classes.
THE 2010 Fall term runs from September 7th to January 29th, 2011.
REGISTRATION & TUITION POLICIES:
There is a non-refundable annual Registration Fee or $40 per student .
A discount will be given to students taking multiple disciplines.
Discounts are valid for 3 weeks after the start of the session unless a payment
plan is in place..
Payment plans are available if requested.
Registration fee plus 1/3rd estimated tuition with completed, signed registration form is
required to hold a student's place in class.
There is a $50 costume deposit due for those
in PreBallet through Ballet 2D and those taking one Jazz or Modern Class
per week (each class has one costume).
There is a $100 costume deposit due for those
in Ballet 3 through Ballet 7 (these dancers have multiple costumes) and
those taking more than one Jazz or Modern class per week (each class has a
different costume.
If the costume(s) purchased for your dancer exceeds the deposit, you will be billed accordingly.
Costume deposits will be applied toward the
purchase of costumes for the 2011 Spring Performance which will also be worn
for the
2011 Winter performance.
There are no refunds following the 2nd week of classes.
There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.
We do take credit cards. There is a 3%
surcharge on all credit card transactions to cover the processing charges we
incur to offer this service.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL POLICIES:
• CLASSES MISSED due to illness or other conflicts may be made-up by taking
another scheduled class at the same or lower level within the same term they
were missed or at other times with permission of the faculty. All classes canceled due to
inclement weather will be rescheduled. There will be no refund or credit for
missed classes.
• SCHOOL SCHEDULE
The Ridgefield School of Dance follows the Ridgefield School schedule. If the
Ridgefield Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the studio will also be
closed. For additional postings regarding the school, go to the “Class Notes”
page.
• PARENTS ARE WELCOME to observe any and all classes.
• PROSPECTIVE students may take 1 trial class
at no charge.
• THE SCHOOL RESERVES THE RIGHT to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment
and to close a class when it has reached capacity.

We will often contact you with information about The Ridgefield School of Dance.
It is important that we have your email address. If you do not check email
regularly, we will call you with information immediately pertinent to classes
(such as closings). More general information not requiring immediate action will

GENERAL DRESS CODE:
HAIR must be secured up off the face when taking class.
NO JEWELRY (including braided wrist and ankle bands, watches or rings) may be
worn in class.
BALLET SLIPPERS and toe shoes must have elastic and ribbons sewn on.
FOOD - There is to be no gum chewed or food eaten in the dance studio or during
class.
DANCE ATTIRE FOR BALLET STUDENTS:
Girls:
Leotard colors with Light Pink tights and pink ballet slippers (canvas or
leather).
Leotard colors:
Pre-school Light Pink
Ballet 1 Light Pink
Ballet 2 Lavender
Ballet 3 Light Blue
Ballet 4 Maroon
Ballet 5 Navy
Ballet 6 Mint Green
Ballet 7 Black
Pointe Shoes: The Ridgefield School of Dance
recommends either Russian Pointe or Grishka.
Boys:
White sleeveless leotards, black tights, white socks, white ballet slippers.
DANCE ATTIRE
FOR MODERN DANCE STUDENTS:
Leotard, stirrup or footless tights.
DANCE ATTIRE FOR JAZZ STUDENTS
Any color leotard and tights or fitted jazz pants (No baggy warm-up clothing).
Tan or beige jazz shoes (no black).
Hair pulled back off face.
No jewelry.
DANCE ATTIRE FOR HIP HOP STUDENTS
Comfortable clothes, sweatpants & tank tops are fine - no jeans..
Jazz sneakers or street sneakers - just no black soles.
Shoes should be dedicated to studio work. Please do not wear sneakers worn
outside into the studio. It leaves grit that impedes the classes after you
and also damages the floors.
